Create a mezzanine in the 'Opening' step

Level : Intermediate

Add a mezzanine to your home project and create beautiful, open volumes that are a pleasure to live in.

1. Go to the 'Wall Opening' step and click on the 'Stairwell' tool. This tool will be used to create the opening over the living room that is next to our mezzanine.

⚠️ You will have as many 'Stairwell' thumbnails as you have inter-levels. For a three-level house, you will have 2 thumbnails : 'Floor stairwell' and 'Ceiling stairwell'.

2. To reveal the opening over the living room while we are on the first floor, use the floor stairwell.

3.  Position your stairwell and click to confirm its placement. It will be represented by a green rectangle with thin dashed lines.

⚠️ To edit the existing 'stairwell opening' tool, simply click on its representation (dashed lines) on the plan.

❗  This stairwell that allowed us to pierce the floor to access the ground floor also appears on the ground floor as a ceiling opening.

4.  You can fully customize the dimensions in the settings on the right. Floor stairwells automatically deduct their area from the room.

💡 Feel free to align the dashed lines of your opening with the edges of walls (to cut baseboards) or outside of walls (to cut the slab in your inter-level openings).

5.  You can add guardrails from the 'Furnishings' step to protect your mezzanine. And there you go!
